Bikini Body Workout

I’m ashamed to see it’s been a couple of months since my last post. Oh well, let’s pick up where we left off….

After vacation I managed to get back to a somewhat reasonable diet (no more pastries) but didn’t see any movement on the scale or in the mirror.  Knowing that I needed a change, my husband sent me a link to The Bikini Body Workout by Jen and Jason Ferruggia.  If you haven’t read his blog – you should.  He’s a great source of body building and diet advice, and his writing style is rather entertaining: http://www.jasonferruggia.com.

The Bikini Body Workout is a sixty day program with daily workouts and a diet plan.  The cost of the program is $30, so giving it a try was a no-brainer.  I guess I could have just decided to give up completely and spend the $30 on pizza and wine, but I do try to be good 🙂

As of today I’m on week 5 of the program, and so far so good.  I have lost a few pounds, though my weight seems to fluctuate quite a bit.  Given that my meals are nearly the same each day, I haven’t figured out the cause, but it has to be water weight.  I’m still trying to figure this out.

The workouts are a new approach for me, as each day there’s a warmup followed by two supersets and then an ab circuit.  The time I spend actually lifting weights is far less than with my normal workout, but I still find myself sweaty and tired by the end.  I do feel like I could/should be doing more, but instead of deviating from the workouts I focus on progressively increasing the weight I’m moving.

I’m just past the halfway mark with this program and I’ll be sure to post results at the end, and hopefully before then too…if I can remember to blog.

Nice to hear you’re making some progress! Jason Ferruggia is a great source of knowledge in this space, and I know he’s put together a solid program here with his wife, Jen.

Your update encouraged me to write a blog post in response! Hope this helps in some small way!
